Day 6 Fernandina Beach to Tybee Island GA

We washed, we scrubbed, we McLubed and we gave the boat back to the
sailors in great condition. The ground crew has really worked hard this
year, Chris, Evan, Debbie, Laurel, and Terry get a very special thank you. The
sailors decided to carry a spare rudder today, let's hope they don't need
it. They have the longest leg of the race today: 102 miles. Depending on
how many shrimp boats they have to go around and how many times they'll
have to Jib they may actually do 110 to 115 miles. Winds at the start
are southeast at 15, but Tybee has only east-southeast at 10, so it might
be a long day for the sailors and the crowd at the finish line. Low tide
will be just after noon, so the sailors will have to be mindful of the
shifting currents and sand bars and mud flat, not to mention a submerged
jetty, fun and games today. We want to also thank all our sponsors, who really make this race
possible for the team.

Update :And They're off! Castrol and Tybee had a nice smoothe start. Castrol pulled into second place. Tybee and Castrol are going to play cat and mouse all morning. The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The pressure is on to win. Since there were no mishaps in the start today, Tybee and Castrol are on even footing. Good Luck!

DRIVE EXTREMELEY HARD ONE MORE TIME!
